JOIN AREA

To join AREA, complete an application form, select the type of membership you desire, and forward, along with your check or money order, to the Treasurer, Aquatic Resources Education Association. AREA members can become Regional representatives, sit on AREA committees, focus national AREA attention on issues of concern, keep abreast of the latest developments in aquatic matters, participate in or represent AREA at conferences and meetings, join the discussion forum AREA Talk, hold office in the Association.

AREA has established the following dues and categories for Association members beginning January 1, 2011.

Regular ($25) Regular Membership: Is open to Aquatic Education and Angler Education coordinators of state, federal and local agencies, or any individual whose professional activities embrace aquatic resource education and the purposes of the Association.

Standards:

·         Full voting status
·         Discounted conference registration
·         Access to the members-only listserv

Student ($10) Student Membership: This category is also open to university level students with an interest in Aquatic Resources Education who wish to participate in communication and conference activities of the AREA.

·         Full voting status
·         Discounted conference registration
·         Access to the members-only listserv

Sponsor ($100) Sponsor Membership is open to organizations or firms such as tackle manufacturers, trade organizations, industry reps, outdoor publishers, etc. whom provide support to AREA and its programs and activities. Representatives of these sponsors may also be regular members of the organization with all benefits of that membership.

Standards:
·         Non-voting status
·         Discounted conference registration
·         Eligible for discounted exhibit space at the conference
·         Will receive an updated database of all AREA members for the purpose of providing ARE appropriate information to the members
·         Access to the members-only listserv

Member dues cover the two-year membership period of January 1, 2011 - December 31, 2012; with individual membership beginning on the day payment and application are received.
